Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-07
Draft status: This policy is a working draft prepared for review by counsel. Questions: legal@theunnamed.dev.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses the Unnamed platform (the "Platform") or interacts with services we host. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. We built the Platform for professional work between us and our clients — this policy exists to keep it safe and reliable for everyone on it.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the Platform to:
- Break the law — engage in, promote, or facilitate illegal activity, including fraud, money laundering, or violation of export controls and sanctions.
- Infringe rights — upload or distribute content that infringes intellectual property, violates privacy or publicity rights, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Distribute malware — upload, host, or transmit viruses, worms, ransomware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Attack the service or others — probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform without authorization (see the exception below), circumvent authentication or access controls, interfere with service to any user (including denial-of-service attacks), or use the Platform to attack third-party systems.
- Abuse messaging — send spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk communications through Platform features or our mail infrastructure.
- Harass or harm — post or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or exploitative, or use the Platform to stalk or harass any person.
- Misrepresent — impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
- Overload — run load tests, benchmarks, or automated high-volume traffic against the Platform without our prior written consent.
- Resell or misappropriate — resell, sublicense, or white-label Platform access without a written agreement, or scrape Platform data beyond your own.
Security research
We welcome good-faith security research conducted under our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. Research conducted within that policy's scope and rules is authorized and is not a violation of this AUP.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations, remove content, throttle usage, and suspend or terminate accounts — with notice where practicable, immediately where the violation threatens the security or availability of the Platform or others' data. Where an SOW is in effect, suspension and termination follow the process in the Terms of Service. We report illegal activity to law enforcement where required.
